Sugar Fast

For some reason this past saturday, while a batch of cookies and brownies were pleasantly baking in my oven to be happily eaten entirely by Lance and me(with ice cream on top), I thought- I need to go a 30 sugar fast! I don't think in the almost 25 years of my life, I have EVER gone that long without indulging in some kind of delectable sugary goodness! Yuck. I am also trying to lose my baby chub and be a little healthier on the inside. Lance and I usually have one "cheat" day a week, but for me that spills into other days and before I know it, I have only one "good" day a week! I know, I know a little treat every couple of days is fine BUT I don't eat just a little...like I said a batch of cookies, brownies, AND Blue Bell Icecream in two flavors was waiting to be eaten by only TWO people.

So yesterday(the 15th) started my 30 day sugar fast! I have recruited quite a few people. I figure the more people I tell, the less likely chance I have to cheat:-) My mom is on speed dial for when an evil sugar craving comes my way to ruin everything! She's there to yell at me to put down the cookie and walk away...knowing her though she might just tell me to eat it so she can cheat on the sugar fast too!
Here are my rules(join it with me if you want and make it as strict as you want):

No: *treats(cookies, brownies, cake, shakes, ice cream, candy...you get it)

* sodas, juices, any fluid with added sugars(includes diet stuff too)

* jams, jellies, honey, natural sweeteners

* Anything with added sugars

I'm also adding on anything with white flour, processed foods, fattening foods, etc...

Oh and one other thing...I DO get 1 meal a week where I can have a little indulgenc(still NO sugar). So I can have fajitas instead of grilled chicken and broccoli!(yipee?)

Good luck right? I'm already planning what my dessert will be on Valentines day.

....I just wanted to share a few tidbits about my little loves. We finished 2011 with an adorable 2 month old(who in 6 days is about to be 3 months-AH!) and an adorable but slightly crazy 2 year old.

David: 2 years   28 and something pounds, 34 inces, and a big head

David has not slowly immerged himself into the Terrible Twos, he has dived into them! We once had a sweet, content, and somewhat quiet little boy...we still have a sweet boy but a hitting, tantrum-throwing, screaming, attention-seeking and sneaky little boy too! I have to say, as crazy as 2 year olds are, we have had so much fun with this turkey.

Nicknames: Bubs, bubbas, David boy, love muffin, buddy and more....
Fun facts:
* Talk ALOT
*loves Mickey Mouse
*still loves his blankies
*Starting to like more foods, beef jerky and granola as of late
*Wants to do things by himself
*Says, "Yokay?"( you okay?), when we cough or sneeze
*LOVES Gavin and smothers him with kisses and hugs all the time. He gets his feelings hurt when Gavin cries because of it
*Still loves being outside and running around
*Loves, cars, trains, animals
* Can work an ipad or iphone and often steals them from Lance and me
*Hits when he's mad, happy, sad,etc. Any advice?
*Loves going to Nursery at church. It is the only place he doesn't hit(?)

This will be a fun and busy year with this little guy!

Gavin: 2 months   10.4 lbs, 23 inches, and a small head

Gavin looks a lot like David did as a little babe. He is a great baby most of the time and likes to be held all of the time(which is not new to me, David did the same). He will smile and coo at just about anyone! Gavin is getting very used to being beaten up by David. David cannot wait for him to get bigger so he can have a playmate!

Nicknames: G-man, Gavin boy, toots/ toots magee, baby(David's name for him)
*loves to be held, and it must be while standing:-)
*smiles and coos all the time! he is starting to giggle and "talk" now-super cute!
*wearing 3-6/6 month clothing now. 0-3 months are too short for his arms and legs.
* has super long hands,feet, arms, legs:-) he's one long string bean
*green eyes but looks like there is a possibility they might turn brown
* loves David's kisses and loves when they are soft
*starting to like the stroller which helps mom alot:-)
*does not like hats
*does not like passies
*sleeps wonderfully at night
*has bad bouts of crying alot of nights for about an hour
*super gassy:-) this kid can burp and, in the words of my dad, flatulate all day long
*first airplane ride was at 2 months, and he slept the ENTIRE time-yay!

We took this little stinker Trick-or-treating this year. After the first few doors, where he cried when anyone would say something to him, he figured out that these strange people were giving him candy and that's when he started loving this trick-or-treat deal. We would go to the door and he would say "treack"(one of the few versions of him saying trick or treat) then he would grab the candy and the say "bye-bye" and turn around and run!

We had Gavin at the same hospital(Texas Women's in Houston) with the same doctor(Dr. Pinell) who delivered David. Our second nurse we had was even the same nurse I had with David so everything felt pretty comfortable for us! The delivery went wonderfully and could not have asked for a better experience...the labor on the other hand was not quite so wonderful:-) Gavin has already proven to be an awesome sleeper...too good to tell you the truth. I can hardly wake him for his meals! He's a great eater. He has the cutest litte cries...sounds kind of like a little mouse. We think he looks a lot like David did when he as born which means he will probably look like another little Lance and nothing like me...maybe one child will resemble me!Enjoy pictures of our new love!

Lance thinks that he needs to take pictures when I have contractions. This obviously wasn't during one because I would have not been so kind as to smile for a picture.

It is quite difficult to entertain an almost 2 year old in a hospital room. So we did this a lot...

Last days of Scranton

Baseball season hasn't quite ended but David and I have already moved back to Houston. My gracious and wonderful mom crazily said yes when I asked if she wanted to help me drive with David, Jake,and I and everything we own for 25+ hours to Houston! It was a LONG, 3 day drive but we're glad it is over. I have to say I honestly don't miss Scranton(just a few friends) but David and I do miss seeing Lance whenever we can get the chance!

With that said, I am going to share a few last pictures from our season in Scranton! The last few weeks David added a new obsession to his list! ROCKS! Every park we went to, David would immediately head straight to the rocks by the streams and start throwing them in. If it was up to him, he would NEVER stop. It was always a circus trying to get that kid to leave his rocks. Fists would be thrown, body parts flailing all around, and high-pitched shrieks heard that would put any girl to shame. Whenever I give this funny little dude a pb&j he always takes it apart, then takes one bite from the pb side and right after takes one from the jelly side...

Another funny thing he does as of late: crosses his legs! He does it when he's eating, sitting on your lap reading books and in his carseat-so cute and sophisticated :-)

Summer Trip: Houston & Utah

David and I took a little trip to Houston to see Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton! The trip was too short but we squeezed in lots of fun! I would have about 100 pictures from that trip but once I went back to look at them, I realized I took the pictures without the SD card in the camera...big bummer! I wised up when we headed to Utah with my family and took way more than I needed to....we loved our summer trip and seeing our families!

We spent 4th of July in the tiny town of Lewiston where we enjoyed a pancake breakfast put on by the town firefighters, a rodeo, parade and fireworks that all turned out to be duds!

The little tots couldn't go on the Alpine Slide so they decided to take a ride on the tiny tot train!

We loved the train until.....

....until it started to move. That's when David's hate of trains started.

I think it's funny that Annie is laughing while her cousin is clearly having the worst moment of his life:-)

Temple Square is always a favorite of ours to go to. I'm always overwhelmed with gratitude to see the sacrifice and hardwork that our ancestors and the earlier Saints put forth into this beauiful temple! I especially love going in summer time and seeing all the beautiful flowers and gardens there.

We're so glad when daddy comes home! A couple of weeks ago we were spoiled with two days of dad! No baseball! So on one of those days we went to the Claws n' Paws zoo. Always a hit with a little animal lover.

Big Boys Don't Cry...Just Their Moms

At the beginning of this past week, Bubs turned 18 months! Slightly a big milestone, especially in church terms. He went to his first day at nursery today. I was planning on going in with him, but I was warned by Lance that I SHOULD NOT do that because it would make it harder for David to be comfortable there. But who would be there to protect my little babe from the nursery bullies or from the evil sugary snacks/drinks that they might give him? Not me, not this time! I went to sunday school and started to cry...thank goodness everyone else was too...from the lesson. Most moms I'm sure are so ready for the day that they can sit through lessons at church without interruptions of whining, crying, and chasing the kids through hallways. I was 5% ready to drop him off and 95% sad/reluctant to. I just couldn't help from being sad over the idea of him getting just a little bit older and doing bigger kid things! I dropped him off and not a tear or whine came out! I checked in about 15 times to see if he was ok and every time he was perfectly fine! Even without his mom. I have a feeling this is what it will be like when he goes for his first day of school or to his first cubscout outting...he will be perfectly fine and excited to go and discover, and I will be an emotional wreck, wanting to protect him from the world. Is it so bad that I want him all to myself:-)

A few fun things about our 18 month old:
- He loves to talk! He will just jabber non-stop. He will repeat almost anything we ask him to say. He says HI! to Lance and me everytime we walk in the room. It surprises most people how enthusiastically he says things.

-Favorite foods as of late: blueberries, strawberries, apples, cottage cheese, hummus, greek yogurt(yes he prefers that over regular), crackers...and on and on. Every once in a while I will let him have a treat or what he thinks is a treat(my protein bars?), he'll put it in his mouth and then start laughing EVERYTIME it is something somewhat sweet. He loves his foods!

- He still loves cars over most everything.

-He loves books, second to cars. He likes to read the same books over and over again.

-He loves watching baby einstein on Lance's phone and snugs with you when he does(Lance does this alot so he can get his snugs in with David).

- Loves the water and being outdoors.

-Loves Jake and sitting on him.

- He still sucks on his pointer finger.

-Loves to be around other kids.

-Has the funniest sense of humor.

-Sometimes he hits you when you do something he doesn't like...we're working on that. He gets very sad when you reprimand him.

-When we wrestle with him he gets so excited that he starts to bite things;you, the blankets,etc.
-He has 4 front teeth and still only two bottom but he has a few molars coming in now.

There are probably a lot of things I'm sure I have forgotten that I might add on later, but this is a few about our favorite little turkey!

Old Mcdonald Had a Farm

Other than cars, David's next obession is with animals. He loves all animals(especially dogs) and making all sorts of animals sounds. He will walk up to any dog he sees, mabye not the safest thing to do, but he'll do it with all the excitement a 1.5 yr old can have! He loves looking at books with animals in them and will point to his favorites and say "dat!"(for "what's that?") and I will answer him. When I ask him, he will usually say "dat!" again and then I have to answer or he'll make the sounds of the animal...too cute. We came up to NY this week to visit Lance while he was in town and we found, of all things to do in NY, a farm that you can tour! So in the 95+ heat we headed out to the farm...

Don't worry there were lots REAL animals that we eventually looked at

I think both great-grandpas on both sides of our family would love to see this

Deep In The Heart of Texas

Last week David and I hopped on a plane to Dallas. I have to say I MISS TEXAS! You see when you live in a place like Scranton, PA(or a lot of the Northeast for that matter), where you get sunshine about 3 times a month, you start missing the south even more, even if it is 20 degrees hotter and has 99% humidity.

The Yankees played a series there against the Rangers so I thought it would be a perfect trip to see Lance and family!

We had fun seeing grandma and grandpa Pendleton!

So fun for family to see Lance pitch!

We have a little cowboy on our hands....actually I have 3 1/2(Jake is included). Not only am I being quickly out numbered by boys but by TEXAS boys. They have all been/will be born in Texas. I guess I can't complain when I see this little munchkin like this!

We loved staying with Preston, Karee, and the kids! David loved being surrounded by his cousins! Carter quickly took on the role of watching out for "my baby" and letting me know every thing he did and where he went:-) David picked up a few things from watching little miss Carloline...

like eating at a big kid table! He also picked up on her crazy moves around the house:

-going down the stairs face first which ended up with him gettin his first goose-egg on his forehead

-climbing on chairs and other crazy places

Now from Carter and Cole we learned the obsession that comes to most boys...Cars!

David LOVED playing with their cars and car tracks. He now says "caw!" for every car, truck, plane, and bus he sees. The first thing he says to me when I get him up in the morning or from naps is "caw!" and finishes meals early to go play with his cars. He also makes a vroom vroom sound when he is driving his little cars around. I guess he is a boys boy now!

David fell in love with this bear. He would dive into the bear and cuddle and hug him all day long! I tried to get Lance to buy one and take it back on the plane with him...he didn't go for it.

Thanks again for letting us take over your house Preston and Karee! We miss you guys!

And now we are back in Scranton, missing the south and family like crazy! But the good thing is we get to see dad more often around here!

I know you have heard me say over and over again how big he is getting and acting but I just still can't believe how fast it is going for my little babe. He is starting to walk/run everywhere and loves to be outside, especially at playgrounds. He could be there all day and be perfectly content climbing up and down the play sets and going down slides!

Bubs doesn't even like being in is stroller for too long...he just wants to move! I let him follow along but he gets side-tracked ALOT. I walk for a little bit and turn around ususally to find him walking the opposite way, sitting in the dirt playing with rocks or trying to pick flowers along the path.

Or tasting them:-) We love or little boy and can't wait for our next little boy to come!

April Fun

Our little boy is starting to think he's a BIG boy now! He wants to walk everywhere by himself , take bites of food without me breaking it into pieces, put on his own shoes and lots more! It is fun watching him become a little more independant but with that comes a big independant attitude that is not so fun.

We have made a few wonderful friends at church in Scranton! We had a fun Easter Egg Hunt at the church in about 40 degree, windy weather that David loved. He quickly picked up on what to do and went straight to work picking up the eggs and putting them in the bag. Soon after he thought it would be fun to pick up mulch and rocks too.

He was always on the move so I can hardly get good picture of this kid these days so here's what we get...

This is our second time coming to NY to visit dad since we have to live apart now! We miss him a lot but love coming here to see him and the Big Apple!

This picture is for grandma. David hasn't had many pairs of shoes so Lance and I splurged when we saw these cute kicks and Grandma B had to see!

One of my favorite shows is Cake Boss on TLC. When I found out that we were staying only 15 minutes from their bakery I had to go! We stood in line for only 30 minutes(which we heard was really good). Lance got a cupcake, I got a canoli and we all split a chocolate chip M&M cookie...they were all delicious! I guess they do know what they are doing.

April has been an exciting month for the Pendletons! Lance was called up to the majors with the New York Yankees. I'm still trying to get used to that...We are still trying to take it all in and enjoy every minute we can! He made his major league debut the night he got called up on April 15th-a day that will live in infamy...at least in our household!

The night of, I was a little too excited and nervous that I forgot to take many pictures but I remembered to snap a few here and there.

I thought it was just the coolest thing to see him on TV...even though he was on the field right in front of me.

On the mound doin' his thing:-) And I was snapping photos and jumping up and down like a little school girl. I think at that moment I fit it with the rest of the crowd.

Warming up for the first time in the bullpen...I stared over at the bullpen the whole game just trying to get a glimpse of him sitting there in his pinstripes. Little did I know I would see him pitch! So exciting.

Yankee Stadium. If you can make it in NY, you can make it anywhere.

One of the first things someone said to me when I walked in here was, "You're not in Kansas anymore." They were right! New York is another place and it doesn't get better than being with the Yankees!

I do have to add that I have driven through the Bronx and through nutty NY traffic and I am proud to say, after a little work on my aggressive moves and many honks directed towards me, that I fit right in...or at least I'm well on my way! Watch out New York, here we come!

Spring Training in Florida

I couldn't think of a better way to spend our last day in Florida than to go to the beach! Especially since we are going north to 40 degree weather...

Here, There, Everywhere!

Since 2005 Lance has been playing baseball with these guys....

Then in December 2010 he was selected in a specialty draft-The Rule 5(too long to explain details) to make the team with these guys...

After a lot of stress and hardwork we are back with these guys!

We are grateful for the opportunity we were given to make the major league team with the Astros. Some hiccups happened along the way and we realized that Heavenly Father has other plans in mind for us! So back to the Yankees we go! Lance will be playing for the Yankees AAA team in....

Good ol' Scranton, PA. I went to visit Lance there at the end of last season and loved it! As you can see the scenery is beautiful. It has a pretty small town feel to it, which I love, so hopefully we will enjoy our time there this season!

Not such a little Bubs anymore

Today this little guy turned 14 months. It is not a milestone age but he has grown so much in the last two months that I wanted to share about my favorite boy.

*He is super close to walking. After watching his cousin Annie toddling around, he has picked it up quick. He has taken 7-8 steps alone and loves to walk around holding someones hand or pushing a little scooter.

* He has 4 teeth. Two on the bottom front and two on top...the fang teeth. He looks adorable and sorta funny without his two front teeth in.

* He is learning sign language. He knows how to say "please" and "milk" and we're working on "thank you" and "more".

*He is very methodical in everything that he does. He loves to stack, collect, line-up, pile toys in certain ways and places.

*He knows where his ears, head, nose, and mouth are.

* He is SUPER tickle-ish

*He waves when you say hi, bye, and night night.

*He loves most dogs and starts talking in a high-pitch voice to them when he sees em'. But don't worry, Jake is still his favorite dog.

* He does the popcorn action with his hands when I sing "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree", and says "beam!" or something like it when I sing "Jesus Wants Me For a Sun Beam".

* He give us kisses with mouth open and tongue out! And I love it more than anything.

*He is the definition of content, happy, easy-going, sweet, and love.

Isn't he such a big boy now?

At the fair! He loved every minute of the chaotic, deep-fried-smelling, red-neck-going, craziness.

The Florida State Fair is an annual thing for the Pendleton's. Lance has to go to get his chocolate and PB fudge!

He is just our favorite boy ever...

How could we even think about going out anywhere without our little Bubs? Even though we hate leaving him we had a nice V-day dinner!

David turned 1 on December 20th! We can't believe that it's been a year since he made his grand entrance to our family. He has added more joy, love and laughter to our lives than we could have imagined!

Facts about our little one year old:

*22.7 lbs and rising quickly-this is the first time his weight has been over the 25th percentile

*29.5 inches long

Loves:
* food-bananas, cottage cheese, bran muffins

* petting Jake

*crawling into Jakes kennel to play
*climbing stairs
*throwing-balls, toys, food, everything. you can only imagine Lance's excitment about this
*giving loves-he points his head towards you and wants you to lay your head on his
*standing up in his crib and throwing everything out of it that he can(which has included a dirty diaper he took off and threw out...i would too if i had to sit in it)
*bath time and swimming
*bike rides
*stacking and hiding his block in different places
*feeding Jake the food he doesn't like
*pretending to feed Jake the food he does like...lets Jake lick it and then quickly puts it back in his mouth and laughs...kinda gross but he loves it!
*anything with a plug
*gettin his two teeth brushed
*clapping
*touching noses
*feeding other people food

Dislikes:(pretty short list...we obviously have a lover not a hater)
*getting dressed
*weird textured foods
*when I take a long time to prepare his food
*mom leaving the room
*getting his nails clipped
*having his nose wiped or picked
*getting socks put on
*getting tossed high in the air

Random facts:
* He STILL only has two teeth but two more are about to pop through
*He has just learned where his head and mouth are
* Throws things when he gets mad or frustrated
*says "Jay!" when Jake comes around
*Still takes two naps a day and sleep from 6-6:30/7
*Gets really quiet when he hears and airplane and looks up in the sky and points
*Has lived in in 3 different states(Fl/Tx twice) in the first year of his life
*Has the coolest parents ever
*Completely stuffs his mouth full of food if you aren't watching and regulating the intake

* Has stood on his own a handful of times for a few seconds

*Loves to go to the mini trash cans, throw whatever toy he has in it, and then dump it all out and do it again
*Crawls and empties all of the cupboards in our bathroom
*Wiggles his tounge aound because he likes to feel his teeth
*cutest kid.ever. :-)

Oh Christmas Trees!

Every year we move to Houston. We've been coming here for the off-season for four years now. And every year we, for some reason we wind up finding some crazy way to make money to save to help get us through the not-so-great-pay, minor league season. When hurricane Ike plowed on through and knocked down just about everything, Lance had the brilliant idea of building fences(little previous experience) and started his own company, creatively named after much thought...Pendleton Fences. Last year we bought a house(we're still not sure why) right in the middle of the housing market crash. We flipped it and have been trying to sell it for the past year and actually just recently got a contract on it. It's a Christmas miracle! Now what do to this year? Sell Christmas trees of course! It might not sound that crazy but the events leading up to the trees being delivered were not so ordinary. About the day the trees were to arrive, we heard news that the roads from Oregan were pretty bad from a big snowstorm and it would have to be delayed a couple of days...not so bad. Well a few more days go by, and no trees. We finally heard from the trucking company that the driver of the truck was in jail(which we are still investigating) in Wyoming and our money-making trees were sittin on the side of the road. Great. I've been awful at blogging lately...we've been busy with family, vacations, birthdays, holidays,work, you name it! The pictures have been piling up on the camera and I just really didn't want to spend the time downloading them all. So needless to to say this will be one of those uber-long blogs full of way too many pictures.

We spent T-day in Asheville, NC with my family! We rented a cabin in the "mountains" and spent the week bundled up in front of bonfires, eating way too much, and playing games way too late! We LOVED every minute of the craziness!

This little dude was a monkey for Halloween...which was only paraded and seen around grandma and granpas house but frankly I don't think the world was ready for this kind of cute-ness! I find this costume to be very fitting for him. He is, little by little becoming a Curious George and getting into everything! Not to mention he loves bananas like I love chocolate, so this is the year of the monkey for our household.

This past weekend all the Bernhisel girls went to Atlanta for a girls weekend(plus Bubs). We went the Time Out For Women and had such a fun time, though I spent most the time strolling the hallways with a cranky little guy. I advise all those who want to go to leave the little ones home if possible. But I loved seeing my sisters! and David loved his grandma time

and stealing Annie's binkie, which she didn't think was quite as funny and quickly snatched it back with sass

This is Bubs' favorite way to spend his time. He just loves to open the wipes, pull them out one bye one and then rip them into little pieces, sometimes trying to sneak some in his mouth. Little punk.

I really don't let him do this much because lets face it, he could do this all day and I dont' feel like spending more money on wipes just to let him play! But it's just too cute sometimes to see how excited he gets...

He loves to get the wipes or the wash cloth in the bath and like to touch everything in reach with it,sort of like he's scrubbing things clean...like Jake!

And this is what happens when I close the wipe box and he can't get it opened again...

Can I just say I love these three boys of mine? I was watching this little cute picture take place and couldn't help fall even more in love with my family! These cuties all celebrated birthdays(sort of) this past week and a half. Lance turned 27, Jake turned 2 today, and little Bubs turned 9 months yesterday!

And with all the birthdays I had to celebrate somehow...so I bought myself a little present:-) So very excited to finally have one of my own! Watch out Martha.

And to celebrate his 9 months he got a flu shot and a little prick on the finger...tis why this is one of the only pictures I have of him not smiling.

Even though it was sad for him to hurt, I thought his little chubby hand with a band-aid on it was adorable, which he bit off 5 minutes after it got put on.

And we can't forget Jake, who got a massive treat for his special day!

Baseball season is over for us. Lance had a great season this year, spending the last part of it in triple-A . Scranton is sure not the most thrill-seeking town but it's set up in the "mountains" and just beautiful...mostly. I was a little dissappointed that I didn't see any of my Office buddies out and about. While Lance was there, David, Jake and I spent a few weeks in Fl playing with this binkie/toy stealing cousin of his...she is not as innocent as she looks. But we do miss you Annie-May

We couldn't go to any Gator games while we were there so I took him to see the our other gator friends

Through all this moving this little guy just does this...a lot better than what his mother does.

On the drive back to TX, we stopped in Pensacola for some beach time. Bubs HATED the water. I mean who wouldn't scream at the tiny waves barely touching your feet...But again, a lot better than his dad crying about the sand being all over. I guess I don't have beach boys.

Jake loved every minute of this little vacation, especially the swans...

And now we're back in Houston for yet another off-season! We have moved into the house we bought last year to flip and sell, which obviously hasn't sold yet. I have a feeling once we get completely settled in, someone will make an offer and we will have to pack up and move....again. This time I will not complain:-) Lance will be substitute teaching at his old highschool(I can't wait to see this) and no its not baseball or PE! Here's to a good off-season!

Lance's parents came to visit us up here in good ol' PA. We loved having them here to spend time with and they loved being able to see Lance pitch and seeing David! We drove on over to Valley Forge for the day and soaked up a little U.S. History I really only got picture of people and not the sites...its ok I like looking at them more

Here are my two all-stars at the game! Lance wasn't allowed to pitch because he pitched two days before the game which is good because it let him have a nice break on his arm! But it was a fun little vacation, much needed for me! Best part about it was being dog-free for two days!

One great thing we found out is that Lance is leading the league in strike outs...what a guy!

Before the All-Star game festivities we were able to visit a little place I like to call heaven on earth-The Hershey Chocolate Factory!

We got to make our own custom made candy bars!

I went jogging this morning and usually about 20 minutes into it this little guy lets the world know he's done with this sitting in the stroller business. Well I didn't hear anything so I took advantage of the time and kept going. 3o minutes into it I still didn't hear a peep out of him but I was done so headed on home. This is what I found. This NEVER happens! He hardly falls asleep anywhere without me holding him! Not only that but he stayed there and let me fold the 5 loads of laundry I've been trying to get done.

He's definitely a hand kinda guy. Now maybe he can do this at night to fall asleep.

Spring training is about done and it's that time again where we say goodbye to sunny Florida and head off to a far far away land. Lance will start off this baseball season in double-A in Trenton NJ! I'm a little nervous because all I know of the people there I have either seen on Real housewives of NJ...

and the few seconds I have seen of Jersey shore. I've come to conclude that everyone is absolutely CRAZY there! Even with all the wackos I'm still very excited for a new adventure and new baseball season to go to Lance's games and have David see his dad pitch! Lance has worked very hard this last off-season and spring training and I know this will be a great year for him! Go Yankees!

What I didn't expect...

I knew alot of crazy things came along with being a new mom but I didn't expect some of them...

* Being pooped on

* Being peed on

* Getting spit up in my own mouth while getting sweet kisses

* Having to breastfeed(with a cover) at a car dealership while negotiating prices
(...its a long story)

and in a dark movie theatre corner because we're desperate to get out of the house

* Having to stuff my bra in order to keep from soaking my shirts from the oh so embarassing leakages

* Not getting to shower for days even after getting all the yummy diaper drippings on me (Lance has now made it a rule that I must shower at least once a day)

* Having a 3rd sleeping buddy in the bed after I swore I would never do that(don't judge, I need my sleep too)

* Going to the bathroom while holding the little guy- multiple times

* Being so excited when I can do my hair AND make up...most the time its neither

* Seeing so many different colored diapers

* Forgetting EVERYTHING- there has been multiple times I have forgotten some layer of clothing to put on before leaving the house

* Having to schedule an exact day and time to go to the grocery store, or do anything for that matter

* Being overly excited about the thought of eating nothing but healthy foods to drop the pregnancy weight

* Having way more cravings for sweets now that I'm not pregnant

* Googling EVERY new thing I see, hear, smell, etc. with the baby to make sure it's normal( I also said I wasn't going to be the paranoid/overprotective parent)

* Going through SO many diapers and wipes and laundry that gets pooped and pee on! (I knew this was coming but you don't really get how many til you have a little one)

my list goes on and gets bigger everyday!

Jenny Leigh Has gone to take a 11P.M. Nap to get as well rested as she can for david's party. When I say party I mean him sleeping all day for the most part and about 12 or so at night he likes to wake up and open his eyes and cry unless he gets held and rocked. It's A Wonderful Life

We are finally home! These past few days have been a little crazy for our new little family, trying to get used to being new parents but they have also been some of the happiest days Lance and I have ever had. David Marc is such a blessing to us and we can't believe how in love we are with him. It's crazy how you have an instant and overwhelming love for someone you just met! I would rather stare at him all day than do anything else!

Lance has been great putting up pictures of the last few days. I know he mentioned we had him on sunday at 3:31. It was actually a pretty good labor...if I can say that only having experienced this one! I have just heard so many stories, I feel like mine went very well. I went into labor at 9:30 saturday night. Well thats when the "real" contractions started. We were actually at a friends Christmas party playing one of my favorite games, catch phrase. And yes I got a little too excited sometimes and I would jump out of my seat up and down. I'm starting to think now that if we didn't go I might not have gone into labor that night. We were actually scheduled to be induced on monday morning because at my appointment the week before(my 38th week), they measured his head and it was at the 40 week measurment thanks to my side of the family! Gotta have room for the brains ya know. But I'm glad he came on his own. I couldn't sleep that night because the contractions started getting very regular and intense. I think we arrived at the hospital at 4 and was pretty miserable . After a few hours of waiting and watching The Office(yes I made sure that was packed in my hospital bag), the on-call doctor finally said ok you are far enough into labor and can stay but we're going to give you some Pitocin to speed this process along. On top of the contractions and the throwing up I was poked at proded a bunch of times with the IV needle(we got a brand new nurse who was shadowing another nurse for the labor...). Once the drugs and my doctor came on all was dandy! Doctor woke me up to push and out came David Marc 35 minutes later! Not too much damage done. We are very thankful all went well and that we have such a healthy little boy. I love being a new mommy!

David Marc Pendleton Arrived at 3:31 PM Dec 20, 2009, weighing a decent 7 pounds 7 ounces. He was 20 1/2 inches tall. Mom and baby are doing awesome everyone is in great health.

I know everyone might be sick of seeing tons of updates about Jake but unfortunately for you all I'm the crazy cat lady but with dogs...well my dog. And I have a husband who can tell you many stories of the drastic measures I go through for him. Hopefully in a week or two you'll start getting more updates of a baby instead. This past week though Jake has been limping around a ton so we took him to the vet to get some x-rays -poor guy has a fractured toe! Lucky for him he got some pain meds and this not-so-great cast to go along with it for two weeks. He looks sad and depressed in the pictures but seeing him try to walk with this cast and attack in when he gets frustrated is pretty funny.

That's right its snowing in Houston Texas! Not a ton but enough for a ski jacket and snowball fight! National Weather Service meteorologist says it's the earliest snow in Houston's history. The previous record for Houston was Dec. 10 in 2008 and 1944. Not that I have grown up with a snow but this really makes it feel like Christmas time!

My nephews Carter and Cole. I thought this was such a cute picture! I walked in the room with them just sitting in the same chair playing a game on the computer!

Carter and Jake had alot of fun together! You would often find Carter outside walking around just chatting with Jake like they were good buddies. The little stinker would sneak food under the table because Jake always looked so hungry to him!
